President Roh Moo-hyun presided over a task force team meeting Thursday related to inter-Korean economic cooperation and the establishment of a joint railway project that would link Korean lines with the Siberian railway.

Presidential spokesman Yoon Tai-young said that, during the meeting, Roh instructed the members of the Northeast Asian Economic Hub Promotional Committee to carry out the development of the railway linkage project based on a long-term outlook.

The chairman of the promotional committee, Bae Soon-hoon, and other officials from the Finance and Economy and the Unification Ministries also attended the meeting.
