The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry announced Saturday that companies and individuals will be required to register with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration before sending packaged foods to the U.S.
A ministry official said that under an American law taking effect Saturday, all food and beverage companies outside the U.S. and individuals who want to send any food products to the United States must comply with the new registration requirements.
The so-called American Bio-Terrorism Act of 2002 requires foreign exporters and individuals to register with the FDA before sending packaged food products for consumption in the U.S.
