U.S. agriculture officials will visit South Korea this week to discuss Seoul's temporary ban on imports of U.S. beef following last week's outbreak of mad cow disease in the United States.

The Seoul government temporarily halted imports of U.S. beef Wednesday, a day after a cow in Washington state tested positive for the brain-wasting bovine disease.

The Agriculture and Forestry Ministry said Sunday a three-member delegation from the U.S Department of Agriculture led by David Hegwood, a trade adviser to U.S. Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman, will come to Seoul on Tuesday after visiting Japan.
