Survey: Economic Development No. 1 Task in 2004

A survey has suggested that the most important tasks that lie ahead for this year are the resolving of livelihood-related issues, including economic development and the issue of youth unemployment.

A poll released Thursday by KBS showed that over half of the respondents said that economic development is by far the most important issue to tackle in the new year. Nearly 20 percent said the issue of unemployment among youth was the most pressing task at hand.

According to the survey, some 33 percent of the respondents cited the wealth gap as the most serious conflict in the nation
