Special counselor Kim Jin-hung announced Thursday that his special prosecution team, currently investigating a slush fund scandal involving close aides of President Roh Moo-hyun, is currently conducting an extensive investigation of Lee Won-ho, the former owner of a night club in Chungju, North Chungchong province.

Kim said that his team had received pertinent documents from the Chungju Public Prosecutors' Office, including a signed confession by Lee in which he said he had given money to a prosecutor who was investigating charges against Lee of aiding and abetting a murder.

Lee is reported to have confessed that he offered money to the prosecutor on three different occasions and had met with another prosecutor named Park in July last year, during which meeting former Chong Wa Dae Secretary and close Roh confidant, Yang Gil-seung, was allegedly present.
