S. Korea Reports 72 New COVID-19 Cases

South Korea has reported less than 100 new COVID-19 cases for a third straight day.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) said Saturday that 72 new cases were detected throughout Friday, bringing the accumulated caseload to 24-thousand-548.

Of the new cases, eleven were imported. Of the 61 cases that were locally transmitted, the majority came from the wider capital area with 23 in Seoul, 24 in Gyeonggi Province and eight in Incheon. 

The number of critically ill COVID-19 patients stands at 89.

Two more deaths were reported, raising the coronavirus death toll to 430.
