Daily coronavirus cases surpassed one-thousand for the second straight day, the first time that the increase exceeded one-thousand for two days in a row since the first case was reported in late January. 

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency(KDCA) said on Thursday that one-thousand-14 cases were confirmed positive the previous day, raising the country's cumulative caseload to 46-thousand-453.

Of the new cases, 993 were domestic infections while 21 were imported.
