First Sunrise of 2021 Will Start over Dokdo at 7:26 AM

Sunrise on January 1, 2021, in South Korea is projected to be first observed over the easternmost Dokdo islets at 7:26 a.m.

According to the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute on Thursday, the year's first sunrise will then be observed over Ulsan City's Ganjeolgot and Bangeojin on the southeastern tip of the Korean Peninsula just 31 minutes later.

Gageo Island in South Jeolla Province in the country's southwest will see the final sunset of 2020, which will last until 5:40 p.m. on December 31.

Sebangnakjo in the province's Jindo area will be the last mainland location to see this year's last sunset, which will be visible until at 5:35 p.m.
