IOC Suspends Kim Un-yong

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has suspended its vice president, Kim Un-yong, pending a prosecutorial probe into allegations of corruption leveled against the 73-year-old South Korean.

In a statement, the IOC said that Kim would be deprived of his rights until the completion of an investigation and inquiry by the Ethics Commission.

Kim is suspected of taking large amounts of bribes and allocating millions of dollars in official funds for private use.

The former South Korean legislator collapsed at home and was hospitalized last week on the eve before his scheduled appearance for interrogation by prosecutors.
