The court has wrapped up an additional hearing on an injunction filed by Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl to halt the two-month suspension he received from a Justice Ministry disciplinary panel.

The hearing at the Seoul Administrative Court on Thursday closed at around 4:15 p.m., around 75 minutes after the session began.

It was the second hearing on the matter following the first one on Tuesday when a decision on whether to allow the top prosecutor to immediately return to work was initially expected.

The Justice Ministry’s lawyer Lee Oak-hyung told reporters after the second hearing that the bench said a conclusion would be made within the day.

The unprecedented suspension of a sitting prosecutor general was announced  Wednesday of last week with the Justice Ministry's panel declaring Yoon guilty of four out of six counts of ethical and legal misconduct, including illegal surveillance of judges presiding over cases involving ruling camp figures.

President Moon Jae-in endorsed the panel’s decision later in the day upon recommendation by Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae, who raised the allegations of misconduct against Yoon. The chief prosecutor filed for a withdrawal of the punishment and an injunction the next day.
