A new survey shows that nearly nine out of 10 South Koreans are willing to get COVID-19 vaccines.
Gallup Korea said on Tuesday that 87 percent of the one-thousand-500 South Korean adults surveyed nationwide last month expressed their intent to get vaccinated when vaccines become available.
In detail, thirty-two percent of those polled said they will certainly get inoculated, while 55 percent said they are likely to get shots.
The result is higher than the average rate of 71 percent in a survey of 32 countries, including South Korea.
According to the multinational survey conducted jointly by Gallup Korea and Win World Survey, people in Vietnam responded most positively to COVID-19 vaccinations at 98 percent, followed by India and China at 91 percent. Denmark was tied with South Korea.
On the other hand, Serbians were least eager to get vaccinated among the surveyed at 38 percent, while Croatia, France and Lebanon were also below 45 percent.
The survey had a confidence level of 95 percent with a margin of error of two-point-five percentage points.
