A detention center in eastern Seoul has reported 121 additional COVID-19 cases, bringing the center's total caseload to over one thousand.

According to the Justice Ministry on Sunday, the Dongbu Detention Center added 121 infections after the fifth mass virus testing on one-thousand-122 inmates the previous day.

The new infections were not included in the country's daily tally for Sunday.

The fresh infections at the center raised the combined COVID-19 cases at correctional facilities across the nation to one-thousand-108, which includes 40 employees.

The ministry's figures only include inmates and employees, and do not include their family members or acquaintances.
