The Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA) said a cold wave advisory will be issued for the entire Seoul region from 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The advisory is issued when the mercury stays below minus 12 degrees Celsius for more than two days in a row or there is a drastic plunge in temperature.

The KMA forecast that temperatures in the central region will drop to minus 20 degrees Celsius, with the coldest temperatures hitting from Thursday to Saturday.
