Frigid Temps to Continue Sunday, Snow Forecast in Central Region

Cold wave alerts are issued for most parts of the country on Saturday and frigid conditions will continue Sunday.

Sunday morning lows are expected to range from minus 21 to minus four degrees Celsius including minus 15 in Seoul.

Afternoon highs will be about four to five degrees higher than Saturday, ranging between minus four and plus four degrees, with minus two forecast in the capital city.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said the cold spell will last through Tuesday, after which normal temperatures will resume.

Snow is expected on the west coast and Jeju Island through Sunday morning while inland areas in northern South Chungcheong Province will also see some snow late Saturday.

Cloudy skies are forecast from Sunday afternoon with one centimeter snowfall expected in southern Gyeonggi, North Jeolla and Chungcheong provinces and a smaller amount in capital Seoul.
