The Seoul metropolitan area is forecast to see snowfall through the late hours Tuesday with particularly heavy snow expected during afternoon rush hour.  

The Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA) said snow clouds that formed in west coast areas are advancing toward Seoul and the southern parts of Gyeonggi Province.  

The agency forecast that Seoul and surrounding regions will see snow through Tuesday night of one to three centimeters. Western parts of Gangwon Province are also set to see snowfall of one to five centimeters.  

An agency official said heavy traffic is expected during the afternoon rush hour as heavy snowfall is forecast during that time frame. The official stressed the need for drivers to keep a safe distance from other vehicles.
