The government has called for continued public cooperation in ongoing quarantine efforts.

Senior health official at the Central Disaster Management Headquarters Son Young-rae said he is afraid people may let their guard down following the resumption of business at some public facilities.

He noted that the epidemic is still going strong worldwide during the winter season, and that even drastic lockdowns have not slowed down the spread in some countries.

He noted that South Korea can't become complacent and there is a clear chance the virus could spread once again if the situation were to relax even a little.
