S. Korea Reports 392 New COVID-19 Cases

South Korea reported 392 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday.

The new cases raised the country's accumulated caseload to 75-thousand-84, said the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency on Sunday.

The daily figure is hovering around 400 recently as the third wave of the epidemic, which began in mid-November, is slowing down after daily cases peaked at over 12-hundred on December 25.

Of the new cases detected throughout Saturday, 369 were local transmissions, while 23 were imported.

By region, nearly 250 cases came from the capital region as Seoul added 127 infections, Gyeonggi Province 99 and Incheon 23. In other parts of the nation, the southern port city of Busan reported 19 cases, Daegu and Gwangju added 11 and 17, each.

Twelve more deaths have been reported to bring the death toll to one-thousand-349. The fatality rate stands at one-point-eight percent.

The number of critically ill patients decreased by 15 to 282.
