President Moon Jae-in is set to receive a policy briefing on the country's vaccination plans and the ongoing fight against COVID-19 on Monday.

Moon will receive the briefing via video-link that afternoon at the presidential office.

Health and Welfare Minister Kwon Deok-cheol, Food and Drug Safety Minister Kim Gang-lip and Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency chief Jeong Eun-kyeong are expected to report to the president on the preparations for COVID-19 vaccinations set to begin next month.

The officials are also expected to report on the third wave of the epidemic and its outlook, as well as plans to adjust the country's social distancing regulations.

President Moon usually receives policy briefings early in the new year, but this year's briefings will mostly be held through written statements amid the pandemic.
