S. Korean Golfer Kim Si-woo Wins PGA American Express Title

South Korean golfer Kim Si-woo has won The American Express, his third victory on the PGA Tour.

Kim carded four rounds in the 60s to win the tournament in the final round held at the Stadium Course in California on Sunday.

Kim finished at 23-under 265, one shot clear of Patrick Cantlay of the U.S. He clinched one-point-two million dollars in prize money.

Kim’s latest victory came a little over three-and-a-half years since his previous. During that period, he had only come in second place once and third place twice in PGA tournaments.

With Sunday’s win, Kim has secured a PGA tour card through 2023 and is now qualified to compete in the Masters Tournament slated to open in April. Kim lost his eligibility to qualify for the Masters Tournament last year.

Having won The Players Championship in 2017, Kim was qualified to compete in the Masters Tournament only through 2020.
