Tottenham forward Son Heung-min has been named the Asian Football Confederation’s(AFC) Best International Player of 2020.

The AFC announced on Sunday that the three-time AFC International Player of the Year award winner from South Korea garnered 25-point-03 points in a combined vote by fans and an expert panel.

FC Porto's Iranian striker Mehdi Taremi came in second with 19-point-34 points, followed by Iraqi left-back Ali Adnan with a tally of 18-point-14 points.

In recognition of club and national team performances of players registered to professional clubs outside the AFC, the award took note of Son scoring 22 club goals in the past year and developing an exceptional partnership with England's Harry Kane.

The 28-year-old was voted Premier League Player of the Month in October, Tottenham's 2019-20 Player of the Year, and became the second Asian player to win the FIFA Puskas Award.
