South Korean retail giant Shinsegae Group said on Tuesday that its discount store chain Emart will buy Korea Baseball Organization(KBO) club SK Wyverns, currently owned by SK Telecom.

The deal, which came as a shock to not only Wyvern fans but also to the team and its staff as well, is set to go down for 135-point-two billion won, or about 122 million U.S. dollars.

This includes the acquisition of SK Telecom's 100-percent stake in the Wyverns as well as the club's players and personnel, properties and facilities.

E-Mart will officially sign the main contract on February 23, after which the new team will launch in March.
