Rookie Snowboarder Wins Halfpipe at FIS Cup

South Korea's Lee Chaeun, a promising rookie in the world of snowboarding, has won the halfpipe event at the International Ski Federation’s(FIS) North America Cup.

The 14-year-old came out on top with a score of 85-point-75 in the tournament held in Park City, Utah, beating out U.S. rivals and fellow South Korean snowboarder Lee Dong-heon, who came in eighth.

Both snowboarders are to compete in the slopestyle event set for this Saturday.

Lee Chaeun has shown promise in the sport, previously winning the 2019 World Snowboard Federation World Rookie Tour in the halfpipe and big air events.
