South Korean pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin of the Toronto Blue Jays ranked sixth on Major League Baseball's(MLB) top ten starting pitchers of 2021. 

It marks the second consecutive time Ryu has been included on the list after ranking fifth last year.

Jacob deGrom of the New York Mets topped the list announced on Friday, followed by Gerrit Cole of the New York Yankees and Max Scherzer of the Washington Nationals. Ryu is the only player from Asia to be ranked in the top ten.

In his first season with the Blue Jays, Ryu posted a two-point-69 ERA over 67 innings.

The 33-year-old has earned two consecutive nominations for the Cy Young Award, the MLB's top annual pitching prize.
