The Japanese government has renovated a website dedicated to territorial claims and added more content related to South Korea's Dokdo islets.

The website operated by the Office of Policy Planning and Coordination on Territory and Sovereignty contains Tokyo's claim to Dokdo, known as Takeshima in Japan, as well as the Senkaku Islands and the Northern Territories, which consist of four islands.

Senkaku, under Japan's de facto rule, is also claimed by China, while the Northern Territories are effectively ruled by Russia.

In its latest move, Japan has further added content to the website's Takeshima section, including 57 pieces of new data.

This comes eleven days after Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi renewed claims to the Korean islets in a speech in the Japanese Diet.

Motegi argued that Dokdo belongs to Japan historically and under international law and vowed to respond cool-headedly to the issue based on this stance.
