South Korea's population increase rate stood at zero-point-32 percent this year, the lowest rate in 30 years.

According to a report by the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs Sunday, a total of 48 million 387-thousand people registered their residency with the government as of January 1st this year, up from some 48 million 229-thousand from the previous year.

The report showed that the population increase rate posted zero-point-43 percent in 2003 and zero-point-60 percent in 2002.
