Harvard law professor John Mark Ramseyer, criticized for his description of victims of Japan's wartime sexual slavery, will reportedly revise his controversial paper on the 1923 massacre of Koreans in Japan.

The paper entitled "Privatizing Police: Japanese Police, The Korean Massacre, And Private Security Firms" will appear in August on the Cambridge Handbook of Privatization, a scholarly handbook by Cambridge University.

In an email interview with Yonhap News Agency, Alon Harel, the co-editor of the handbook, said that the paper will not appear in its original form.

Harel reportedly said that the editorial staff gave their comments that were detailed and very critical of the paper, and Ramseyer notified that he would "revise significantly" the paper.

The co-editor called the controversial content of the paper a "very regrettable mistake."
