Daily COVID-19 Cases Climb to Highest in 19 Days

Daily COVID-19 cases have climbed to the upper 400s, the highest in 19 days as clusters associated with workplaces were found throughout the nation.  

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency(KDCA) said that 470 cases were confirmed in the 24 hours to 12 a.m. Wednesday, raising the country's cumulative total to 93-thousand-733.  

Of the 452 local infections, 354 were from the Seoul metro region. Eighteen were imported. 

Daily infections have hovered in the 300s and 400s over the past several weeks, but have been increasing over the last three days. 

Among new clusters, nine people were confirmed with the virus at a battery manufacturer in Yesan, South Chungcheong Province, and 13 at a fish market in Busan. A livestock market in Anseong, Gyeonggi confirmed 90 cases over the past four days. 

Three more people have died, bringing total coronavirus deaths to one-thousand-648. The number of critically ill coronavirus patients fell by five to 123.
