K-pop band BTS dominated world music sales in 2020. 

The music industry body IFPI said on Thursday that BTS' "Map of the Soul: 7" came in number one on its 2020 Global Album Sales Chart, followed by its release "BE" at number two.

The chart, which counts global physical and digital download sales, came out a week after IFPI named BTS its Global Recording Artist of 2020.  

Frances Moore, chief executive at IFPI, said that "‘Map of the Soul: 7’ broke chart records internationally and in Korea, and is yet another incredible body of work from a band that continues to delight music lovers globally.”
