A bloody crackdown on anti-coup protesters by Myanmar's military and police continues on with the death toll surpassing 450.
Reports say at least 114 innocent lives were lost on Saturday alone, including children, due to indiscriminate shooting.
According to local news media Myanmar Now and The Irrawaddy, a 40-year-old neighborhood watch member was burned after being wounded by gunfire from security forces in Mandalay, the second-largest city in Myanmar.
The man, a father of four, was reportedly put on top of a stack of burning tires that had been set up by local residents as a makeshift barricade to slow down the advance of junta forces.
In its Sunday update, the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners(AAPP) said that 459 civilians are now confirmed killed in Myanmar since the February 1 coup, adding the actual number is likely much higher.
It said that on Saturday, one of the deadliest days, the military regime killed unarmed civilians, including children, during night-raids, without reason.
