Seoul City announced it submitted a bid on Thursday to host the 2032 Olympics jointly with Pyongyang to the International Olympic Committee.

The city explained that on February 25, the IOC had unilaterally tapped Brisbane, Australia as the priority negotiator for the 2032 Games and that this move prompted South Korea and Seoul to lodge a complaint and start negotiations for Seoul's bid.

The bidding document outlines the slogan "Beyond the Line, Toward the Future" as a vision for the inter-Korean bid to host the Olympics and the following Paralympics.

Seoul City said co-hosting is in line with the IOC's vision of realizing global peace through sports as well as South Korea's aspiration for peace and harmony on the Korean Peninsula.
