Police sought an arrest warrant Friday for a relative of President Roh Moo-hyun accused of obtaining money from a property developer by fraud.

Min Kyung-chan, a brother-in-law of Roh's elder brother, Kun-pyeong, is suspected of receiving a total of 530 million won (US$453,150) from a real estate developer over several occasions since last May.

The National Police Agency said the developer gave the money in return for a pledge that he would be allowed to run a cafeteria at a hospital to be established in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province.

Min, a bankrupt 44-year-old medical doctor, is under investigation over allegations that he raised 65 billion won from private investors since December for unknown purposes.
