The U.S. Educational Testing Service (ETS) has announced that a new-generation Test of English as Foreign Language or TOEFL will come into operation in September 2005 for students who want to study in North American universities.

An ETS official said Monday that a speaking section will be added to the new on-line test which also evaluates comprehensive abilities in listening, reading and writing. After taking the test, each examinee would receive specific comments from ETS experts in order to learn their strengths and weaknesses.
