The government plans to build four additional institutes to foster science whiz kids this year.

The Ministry of Science and Technology announced its plan Thursday to set up four additional education centers dedicated to educating teenage students with exceptional talent in science.

The measure would increase the number of such institutes to 23 this year and to 30 by 2006.

The government will annually provide around one-hundred-70 million won each to universities that will be authorized to establish programs for gifted students.
