The Daegu High Court on Thursday upheld a 34-year prison sentence for Moon Hyung-wook, the original operator of the "Nth Room" Telegram chat group that distributed sexually exploitative videos of women and minors.

In issuing the verdict, the high court said the defendant caused irrevocable and serious damage to the victims. With this decision, the court rejected appeals made by both Moon and prosecutors.

In April, the Andong branch of the Daegu District Court sentenced Moon to 34 years and ordered that upon his release, his personal information be made public for ten years.

The court also prohibited Moon from working at facilities related to children and teenagers for ten years, as well as ordered him to wear an electronic ankle bracelet for 30 years. Both Moon and prosecutors had appealed the ruling.

The 24-year-old college student, better known by his online nickname "God God," was indicted in June 2020 on 12 charges, including violation of laws on the protection of children and adolescents from sexual exploitation.
