Korean Cultural Centers Overseas to Promote Paralympics

The Korean Culture and Information Service, an arm of the Culture Ministry, will organize a series of events to mark the Tokyo Paralympics and promote Korean culture at the same time.

Through a video on its social media page, the Korean Cultural Center(KCC) in Russia will introduce the martial art of taekwondo which has been adopted as a Paralympic sport for the first time.

The center in Los Angeles will hold taekwondo demonstrations and performances to mark September 4, which is Taekwondo Day as officially designated by the U.S. state of California.

The Korean Cultural Center in Indonesia will host a Paralympics cheering campaign in sign language using K-pop lyrics.

The KCC in the United Arab Emirates will introduce the Korean traditional percussion music of Samulnori through an online concert next Tuesday, featuring an art troupe of people with disabilities.
