South Korea’s first domestically produced rocket, called Nuri, has been assembled on a launch pad for a wet dress rehearsal(WDR).

The Ministry of Science and ICT said Thursday that the flight model to be used in the actual launch was set up for the WDR, which is the last round of inspections ahead of the rocket’s scheduled October launch.

The rehearsal tests the launch vehicle in a temperature environment of minus 183 degrees Celsius. It's called "wet" because liquid propellant components such as liquid oxygen are loaded onto the rocket.

The final stage was initially set to be held on Tuesday but was delayed due to Typhoon Omais, which brought sharp winds and pelting rain to the southern region.

Nuri’s launch could be adjusted depending on the results of the rehearsal, though the government is aiming for October 21.
