The death toll from Thursday's suicide bombing at Kabul airport in Afghanistan has climbed to 170, with some 13-hundred people sustaining injuries, according to foreign news outlets.

Multiple U.S. officials told the Associated Press the death toll has risen to 169.

U.S. networks CBS and CNN, citing an Afghan health official, said the death toll has surpassed 170. Most of the dead are Afghans.

Thirteen U.S. service members were also killed, including ten Marines.

The UK Foreign Office also confirmed the death of three Britons, including a minor.

The Arabic news channel Al Jazeera said 28 Taliban members lost their lives.

Citing an Afghan health official, Russia's Sputnik news agency said more than 13-hundred people were injured in the bomb attack.

Casualty numbers are feared to grow due to the chaotic situation in Afghanistan and the lacking of rescue and medical services.
