The United States and about 100 other nations, including South Korea, said they are committed to ensuring the evacuation of their citizens and Afghans at risk from Afghanistan.

According to the U.S. State Department on Sunday, those countries said in a joint statement that they are committed to ensuring that their citizens, employees, Afghans and others at risk will be able to travel freely from Afghanistan.

The statement said the Taliban has assured that all foreign citizens and Afghan citizens with travel authorization from these countries will be allowed to leave the country in a safe and orderly manner.

It added that the countries will continue issuing travel documentation to designated Afghans, and the countries have a clear expectation that these people can travel, along with a commitment from the Taliban.

About 100 countries joined the statement, including South Korea, Japan and U.S.' European allies as well as NATO.
