The U.S. House of Representatives has drafted a revision bill to include South Korea and other countries in the U.S. multilateral intelligence network called "Five Eyes."

The National Defense Authorization bill for fiscal year 2022, drafted by the Subcommittee on Intelligence and Special Operations, has been confirmed to include the revision to that effect.

Five Eyes is a cooperative intelligence alliance involving the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, Australia and Britain. The alliance was formed in 1946 between the U.S. and Britain and extended to include the others.

The draft bill seeks to expand the intelligence sharing network to include South Korea, Japan, India and Germany.

The bill reportedly asked the U.S. government to provide a report to Congress by May 20 next year on benefits and risks of expanding Five Eyes.
