The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art(MMCA) has planned a separate viewing opportunity for the socially vulnerable to the Lee Kun-hee Collection art exhibit currently ongoing at the museum.
The MMCA said Monday it prepared the special opportunities program to reflect the spirit of the social contribution made by the late Samsung chairman's family. The free exhibit has been widely popular with online reservations rapidly filling up in two-week increments.
For the elderly, the collection will open one hour early every Tuesday, with the 9 to 10 a.m. hour set aside for those born on or before December 31, 1956. The exclusive time slot will officially apply on September 28, following a trial run next week.
Online reservations for the 9 to 10 a.m. time slot is due to open on Tuesday at 10 a.m. via the museum's website.
Low-income single parent families will also be invited every Saturday starting on October 2. The program, created in collaboration with the nonprofit group World Vision, will extend through the end of the year.
The Lee Kun-hee Collection titled "Masterpieces of Korean Art" runs through March at the MMCA.
