A U.S. government report shows that North Korean assets frozen by the United States amounted to over 30 million dollars last year.

The U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control(OFAC) said in its terrorist assets report on Wednesday that total North Korean assets blocked by the U.S. stand at 31-point-69 million dollars as of last year.

The report said the amount increased by 80-thousand dollars from a year earlier.

The OFAC earlier estimated the amount of blocked funds at 44-point-48 million dollars for the calendar year 2019, but revised it to 31-point-61 million dollars in the latest report.

The report said that sanctions target the North Korean government, but also individuals and entities acting on its behalf or engaging in North Korea-related activities. The numbers in the report may include the funds owned by all of the targets.
