Unification Minister Jeong Se-hyun says on-going six-party talks in Beijing have been progressing well so far.

Jeong said in a regular briefing on Thursday that North Korean and U.S. delegates met twice for bilateral discussions on the sidelines of the main talks.

He said he believed the two sides would come up with a number of proposals since North Korea has agreed to freeze its nuclear activities with the aim of complete dismantlement.

As for working level talks to relink cross-border transportation routes, Jeong said North Korea had requested Seoul to provide necessary materials to complete the construction of a railway station linking the North's Gaesong city and a nearby industrial complex. Jeong said he would discuss the matter with related ministries before deciding on the matter.

The talks, which kicked off Wednsday in Gaesong, aims to relink two sets of roads and railways across the demilitarized zone, which had been severed during the Korean War.
