One million doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be shipped to South Korea from Britain in a vaccine swap deal.

The pan-government vaccine task force said on Wednesday that the government signed an agreement to that effect with the British government, and they are discussing supply details.

The Pfizer vaccines will reportedly be shipped to South Korea in phases from Saturday. The shipments from Britain will be used to inoculate people aged 18 to 59.

The government plans to return the same amount of vaccines to Britain in December.

British Health Minister Sajid Javid also confirmed the swap deal in a statement, saying that Britain would send Pfizer doses which it does not immediately need.

According to Reuters, Javid said that Britain would send a first batch of Pfizer shots in the coming weeks and South Korea would return the same volume by the end of the year.
