US media say the overall atmosphere of the six party talks is improved

Major US newspapers are saying the six-party meetings in Beijing were improved from the previous meetings.

USA Today reported Friday the atmosphere of the Beijiing talks were generally better than the earlier round of talks held in August. However, the paper said significant progress would be difficult to expect up until November, when the US presidential elections will be held.

The daily quoted an Asian diplomat as saying North Korea may not make substantial concessions to the US until a new US president is elected.

The Washington Post reported that North Korea has accused the US of being a main obstacle in the talk
