Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myung has claimed yet another victory in the ruling Democratic Party's(DP) presidential primary.
In a vote cast by delegates and ranking members of the party from Jeju Province on Friday, Lee garnered three-thousand-944 votes, or 56-point-75 percent of the total ballots cast.
Former prime minister and party chair Lee Nak-yon came in second with two-thousand-482 votes, accounting for 35-point-71 percent.
Former Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae ranked third with six-point-55 percent, while second-term lawmaker Park Yong-jin was a distant fourth at zero-point-99 percent.
Thirteen-thousand-346 people were eligible to vote, and six-thousand-971, or 52-point-33 percent, cast a ballot.
With the latest win, Lee extends his lead by securing 53-point-41 percent of the cumulative votes so far, followed by former prime minister Lee at 34-point-73 percent.
The DP will hold regional primaries in Busan on Saturday and Incheon on Sunday. The result of the second round of votes by public and rank-and-file members, numbering nearly 500-thousand, will also be announced on Sunday.
