Authorities reportedly stopped the turbine of a nuclear reactor in South Korea's southwestern nuclear complex on Sunday due to a problem in the turbine control system.

Authorities are said to have manually stopped the turbine of Hanbit 2 reactor in Yeonggwang, South Jeolla Province at around 12:07 p.m.

The reactor reportedly remains in stable condition.

Authorities said there was no radiation leak caused from the stoppage.

They plan to investigate the problem in the turbine before deciding on whether to resume operations.
