A North Korean delegation is currently in Seoul for talks on details for ongoing cross-border economic projects.
A 27-member North Korean delegation arrived in the South Korean capital city Tuesday afternoon for four days of economic negotiations between the two Koreas.
The two sides are expected to discuss joint economic projects, including the construction of an industrial park for South Korean companies in the North Korean border city of Gaesong and the reconnection of cross-border railways and roads.
South Koreas Hyundai Asan Corp. is building the huge park in Gaesong, which is expected to eventually house more than 1000 small- and medium-sized firms seeking to take advantage of the communist states cheap but skilled workforce.
North Korea has offered 66 million square meters of land for the complex.
The two Koreas agreed early last month to cooperate in building a trial complex on a portion of the land in the first half of 2004.
The two sides are also expected to review progress on an ongoing project to reconnect two inter-Korean railways and their adjacent roads.
