Kerry Cements Democratic Presidential Nomination

U.S. Senator John Kerry has all but clinched the Democratic presidential nomination, driving rival John Edwards from the race.

With a string of Super Tuesday triumphs, the Massachusetts senator stood alone against President Bush. An aide to Mr. Edwards said that the junior senator from North Carolina would be quitting the campaign, and would make an official announcement on Wednesday.
