KBS, the mother company of RKI, has honored overseas Koreans who have made outstanding contributions in their respective fields.
Five ethnic Koreans were given the KBS Overseas Compatriots Award at a ceremony held at KBS' main center in Seoul on Thursday.
The award is given in five fields, including humanities and social sciences, natural sciences, arts and social services.
KBS has been giving out the awards annually for the past 12 years.
