In East Timor, a memorial ceremony will be held on March 18 on the one-year anniversary of five South Korean U.N. peace-keeping soldiers who had been lost or killed in flood waters while on duty.

A defense ministry official said specific details were being discussed with the South Korea's embassy in East Timor, including setting up of a memorial in honor of the soldiers.

Some 130 mourners, including families of the deceased and military officials, had congregrated at the National Cemetary in Taejon City on Saturday for a joint memorial.

The five were attempting to cross a river on their way to fix a broken generator when they were swept away by fast-rising waters. Four bodies were recovered while one person remains missing.
